The proposal is partially based on a collaborative work with Prof. Chen Ling and his doctoral student Mr. Dong Jiyang. The presentation reviews the development of CPFs and raises research questions with regard to the OFDI of CPFs. The presentation also incorporates a comparative study on the OFDI of SOEs and CPFs in recent years. Dr Yue is also going to highlight theoretical argument and empirical studies on the subject and she is going to propose a research idea for discussion.
报告人简介：
Dr Yue is an enthusiastic researcher highly interested in exploring firms’ strategic behaviour in the international business context. With both research and working experience in international business environment she has been focusing on the outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) of Chinese firms including the Chinese private firms (CPFs) and Chinese family firms (CFFs) in recent year. She is specialised in case study method and competent in interpreting both industry-level and firm-level data. She has outstanding communication skills and mature characteristics in lecturing students with diversified academic levels and cultural backgrounds as well as practitioners of high business profiles in the UK.
After her undergraduate study in China and a few years work in CATIC in China Aviation Industry as a project manager, Yue went to the UK where she completed her MBA in Financial Studies in Nottingham Business School in 2001. Then she finished her Master of Research in 2003 and the doctoral Study in Economics, Policy and Strategy in Cranfield School of Management in 2007. In 2008, Dr Yue joined Hull Business School as a lecture and programme leader on the subject of international business. Part of her doctoral study has been published in 2009 as a book chapter in the UK. Dr Yue is also a board member of the Chinese Economic Association (CEA) in the UK.
