Abstract: This case describes how Sail Co., Ltd., a company that is under the pressure of market environment changes and the transformation of its competitor, seeks its way to change strategy and solve the profit problem. To reduce manufacturing costs and improve the company’s agility, a manager proposed to optimize the supply chain by outsourcing. The company executives have a fierce discussion on the topic and they analyze the applicability of outsourcing as well as the advantages and risks. Make or buy? A tough strategic decision will be made according to the resource and capability of the company by chairman of Sail.
